GUIDE TO DESIGN STAGES:

Design process begins with our first meeting and is staged, as follows:

A consultation to explore your project and its potential

A consultation to explore your project and its potential

  1. Initial Visit

Our first meeting introduces your site and your projects opportunities.

A sense of your requirements and wishes and the potential of your space is gained, ideas are shared and a budget discussed. Photographs and site notes are taken.

Further to our meeting I will write to you with a short resume of my findings and proposals, along with a quotation for further works, if required.

2. Brief, Survey & Analysis

I will visit to take a design brief and complete a site survey amd gather further information that is used to produce a scaled plan of your site, within It’s context. Should your site be complex, a professional topographical land survey may be required.

2. Design

Now the design process can begin and a concept plan is created for you. This introduces the look of your project and gives us lots to discuss. The proposal will show hard and soft landscaping, areas of planting and lighting suggestion, along with explanatory sketches and illustrations.

From this, we make tweaks and revisions and together, progress to the final design, including rendered sketches and elevations, where required.

3: Tendering & other documentation.

You might already have a trusted builder in mind but should you wish to tender your project I can develop the final design into a set of Master documents for contractors of your choice to cost.

This might include construction drawings for bespoke features, ground levels, hard landscaping, setting out and drainage plans.

Drawings in support of planning applications may also be carried out at this stage.

4: Build

I am happy to offer site visits, assistance and clarification during the build process, unfortunately I do not manage the contracts, coordination of your build, chosen contractors or suppliers. (for insurance reasons).

5: Planting

Should you wish, I am happy to prepare planting plans and procurement schedules (bill of quantities) for you and arrange the procurement and planting of your garden.

I can oversee landscape contractors on your behalf who will prepare your garden, ready for planting.

Should you use my procurement & planting services, all of your plants will be sourced from reputable professional suppliers and I am happy to share with you any cost savings that I make from my professional relationship with them.

Once delivered, your beutiful plants are carefully checked and set out in their correct positions, ready for planting. Planting may be done by myself & colleagues or your contractors, depending on individual circumstances and choice.
